Complaints…

Posted by on April 02, 2004

There seems to have been some complaints that my journals are always so long and serious. Ah, yes, they are. And the reason? Because I rant. Ask my friends, they’ll either tell you I’m long winded or they’re lying. And the reason they’re all fairly serious is because I see this journal not so much as a “Hey! Here’s what I did today! Oh, and I wanna give a shout out to Shaniqua, Ray Ray, Li’l Bill…” anthology, but more of a way for you to see more what’s been rolling around my head for the last few days. And the reason I write about that stuff is because it helps me really understand what I might previously only been feeling in a very vague sense. When a person is forced to coherently dictate his ideas onto paper (or a webpage, as in this case), he more fully understands those very ideas.

The other complaint is that I “need to update my journal.” Now, both of these complaints are coming from multiple sources, so don’t go thinking I’m just referring to you. Do you read my full journal? Complain that it’s a freakin’ novel, but then complain that I don’t update it often enough. Well, I’m trying to give people a week or so to read the journal… I was only trying to help! Oh great, now I’m crying again… and I gotta go to English.
