This is what the “Keep Knoxville Beautiful” commission has come up with for this year’s anti-litter campaign. It’s fresh. It’s hip. It’s “with it.” The problem? My car almost careens off the road every time I see it.
I get this mental picture of four or five middle-aged politicians standing around brainstorming this idea.
“I’ve got one! What about Don’t throw down on K-town?”
“That’s it, Charles! That’ll get the kids involved. We just need to speak their language is all.”
I mean really, what a horrible idea. It almost makes me want to litter.

Ran across your blog entry when doing another search. The slogan “Don’t Throw Down on K-TOWN” was actually developed after conducting focus group discussions with about 50 UT students and the slogan was actually developed during a work session with 5 or 6 twenty-something radio station promotion employees. We typically don’t let the older politicians develop our slogans.
P.S. - nice blog.
