First of all, I’m astounded that this is actually happening. It’s an unprecedented show of Israeli compliance. But I don’t think it’ll solve anything. It won’t be enough for the Palestinians, and it will only serve to enrage the Israelis more.
This ongoing dispute between these two peoples will not end soon. Sometimes I wonder if anyone has any idea why they really hate each other. In the Western world, we like to imagine that every hate has a logical reason–that if we’d only talk it out, everything would be okay. It just doesn’t seem like it works that way over there.
